Perhentian Island - Day 3

"Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding!!!!!!" My alarm rang furiously to wake me up but i snoozed it every time. I felt kinda bad for June because she's sleeping like a baby. The third time the alarm rang i opened up my half dead eyes and saw Su Fen got up from her bed and ready to go somewhere. She's going to the beach to see the sun rise after i asked her. Good, i'll tag along. Don't feel like sleeping anymore, the mosquitoes wouldn't leave me alone. They've been french-kissing my skin the whole night. My sunburn still hurts, my sunburn still itch - i'm still alive, hell knows, the mosquitoes in Perhentian might just suck my blood dry. I got up, and June got up too. Quite anticipate to see the sunrise.

We strolled down to the quiet beach, everyone is still soundly asleep. Most of the foreigners got hot and heavy in the night beach club the other night and i bet they are still dreaming. The speedboat is also sleeping after working hard all day long to serve the people in the island killing the tourists by charging a ridiculous fare by ferrying us within a walkable-in-the-sea distance; the shops are still closed; everything at 5.30am is always a lil quiet. Except for the waves that never stops beating on the sand. I love this place, this hour.

We walked closer and closer to the sea and found a spot to sit down. Su Fen laid her pareo on the sand and 3 of us just sat there and reminisce the past 2 days we had in the island. June was so amazed to see the crabs when they crawled out from their sand hole. They got closer when the tide is higher. Slowly, we can see traces of lights in the sky, no sun. We've already predicted that the clouds will block the view because the night before rained. The sky is regaining it's light, and off we go back to our chalet to pack our stuff.

For SOME reason, i just felt asleep. Maybe i was too restless the night before. Or too active perhaps. When i woke up, no one is in the room. Kinda freaked out for a second. I guess they went for breakfast. Not long after that, they came back. I ate my breakfast in the room provided by Su Fen and June. We packed our stuff and double checked everything before we left our room deserted to another tourist.

On our way to the counter, we saw another monitor lizard, which is bigger than the one we first saw. Su Fen freaked out again, guess i'm not the only one who is terrified of scaly and geli animals. We put our luggage and bags in the library near the reception counter before we left to the beach again and look for a restaurant to eat and chill for the rest of the day.

We walked for a distance to the restaurant at the far right end. According to June and Seng Kwee, they serve good food. The food was good, i couldn't finish it because the portion was too big - mat salleh portion. We moved to the table right down the beach because in the restaurant it was too hot. We start playing cards to kill time. Shannon look dead. He needs the sun to charge him up. Seriously, when we talk to him he start laughing and out of a sudden he just show us the I'm-dying face. Su Fen and Shannon kept complaining to us how much they wanted to stay. But they didn't extend their stay at all.

Finally the sun is out! Shae left us at our table and strayed. Bet he is snapping photos until his camera burst. He came back for a while because, according to him "There's no sun lar!!". SEE!! he is dead without sun, i think he is solar-generated. Although he is sun burnt but it seems like he is invincible towards the sun. I joined him for his second round, we went to the rocks and all and i was enjoying myself socking my burnt feet in the water. Love it. The snapping keep going on. My camera decided to die on me on the last day, bad camera. I should have charge it the day before. Silly me. Ahh... nvm, i have a cameraman with me. His camera will NEVER die.

I went back after that and Shannon went for another round of straying.. man that guy just wanna snap each and every corner of the island; each and every wave lapping on the rocks and sand; each and every living creature on the island. Guess what i saw, my cute lil' ang mor boy! so cute.. he is playing a ball with his dad. Although i feel he look more like his grandfather.

My son. He is really cute isn't he?

So people, take good care of the earth so our next generation get to see this beautiful place.

I love this place, but one part of me cannot wait to get back. I think my sun burn has taken a toll on my skin. It's bumpy, it's itchy, it's red and it's hot. I wanna see the doctors and rinse myself with some clean water. I wonder how those people live for months here in the island.

It's about 3.30pm when we went back to get out bags. The girl working at the reception counter tell us to wait at the beach. Approaching the Panaroma entrance/exit, those eager boat taxi driver couldn't wait for a minute to charge us each RM2 for the boat ride. When i we crawled to another boat, i looked back and see the distance the people got us to.. *** ** * ***** THAT'S LIKE!! WHAT?! 40METERS? i can walk to the boat myself okay? Never mind-lah, i was thinking, not like they can do that to us everyday. Malaysians.

Blue blue sky and clean clear water. I'll come back again for sure. Suddenly, i'm so proud of Malaysia.
(Chan Ye complaint my words were too small for reading, so this is the normal size wordings for you my dear, hahaha! take that!)

The driver starts the boats engine and off we go. Not very bumpy, but very splashy. June and I sitting facing the front had a few splash of salty sea water straight on our face. Like an endless journey, the ride is taking forever. It didn't feel long though. The journey back always feels shorter. We reached the jeti and damn, the water smells like sewage. We walked back to the agency's office and left our bags there. We walked around the place and found a Chinese restaurant. While we're chit chatting, outside the wind are blowing so strongly that all the sands and dust flew into our drinks and MY EYES!! Quickly, all of us put on our reliable shades. We start playing cards again, it's fun!

A while later, we kids got hungry. We ordered steamed Angkoli(some fish i've never eaten my whole life), Thai style Squid and a belacan vegie. I was very skeptical of how the dishes would turn out to be like but i was wrong, it taste delicious. I think none of us has taste such fresh food before, and the culinary skill is awesome. MMMMMmmmm!! yummy!

Something-Sakura restaurant in Kuala Besut, Terengganu.

I'm looking forward to go to the restaurant again. The name of the restaurant is something-Sakura restaurant. Trust me, the food is awesome. After that we continued with our cards because time is to kill, and we have plenty.

June and I wanted to change so we went back to the agency's office to get our stuff, but bad timing, he left to break fast already. We waited back in the restaurant and hopefully by the time we get back, he is already there. When we decided to leave the restaurant already all of us went back to the agency's office and waited for a few minutes before he stopped his brand new car outside. Our next challenge is to look for a toilet. We walked round and round with our bags, there's 2 public toilet which is nicely painted but they are all closed. So we went back to the restaurant and use their toilet. What an effort just to look for a toilet. Finally the bus is here. We hop on the bus and soon... i'm asleep.

I only remembered the bus stopped once because the police wanted to check our IC, i was so blur i just took out my i.c and stare at the police half dead.
