Perhentian Island - Day 2

DAY 2!!! Rise and Shine, cuz TODAY! we're going to see all the fishies!!! BAH.... actually, i can hardly open my eyes due to the restless night. The mosquitoes just wouldn't leave me alone! and it's damn hot in the room. And yes, the fan is working but the mosquito net wouldn't let the wind through. Shitty. June woke up in the middle of the night helping me to put up the net, Sorry June.

After we had our breakfast, a friendly malay man approached us and asked if we already have our snorkeling gear, we said no. So he lead us to a small little area outside the chalet's restaurant to try on our snorkeling gear. June and Shae went missing somewhere. Then suddenly there's this Caucasian stood there, about 6 foot tall, beer bellied, and very red... looking at all of us while we're trying on our flippers like ducks. He said Hi. I said Hi. This guy must be lost in this small little island. He asked me if we're going to snorkel, we said yes. Then Su Fen told me he might be one of them that's going to come with us. After a little chat, we found out that yes, he is going to the snorkel at 10.30am, same with us.

We hop on to our speed boat after June and Shannon came back and tried their snorkeling gear. Then another Caucasian joined us in our boat. Our driver got in, and soon we're traveling at a high speed towards somewhere-we-don't-know.

Philbert severely sunburnt but happy.

Later we found out that the guy we met is from Germany. He got ditched by his friend that went diving. Kesian sungguh. We chatted a lot and he is such a small kid trapped in a big body! he talks like us, and he laugh easily :)

Still burnt.

We're approaching a white light tower and the speed boat started to slow down and soon put to a halt, we're floating steadily on the boat waiting for instruction. I looked down, the water is SOOOO clear and i can see fishes and corals down there. Our pak cik told us that this place has the nicest coral and he start throwing pieces of bread into the sea and the fishes start attacking the bread.

Hungry fishes feeding on breads.

He told us we can jump down from the boat. We put on our life jacket but the brave Germans and guess who? Shannon just jump down like no one's business. That guys must have been so desperate.

I put on my life jacket, took off my jeans, lowered my eye mask, and insert the air-tube into my mouth, wrapped my underwater camera around my wrist and sit on the edge of the boat. Everyone's down except me and Su Fen. No, i'm not hydrophobic. I just need to get myself mentally ready.
DummmMM!! is more like what my jumping sound produces rather than the Splash!! i sank my head in, and listen to my own breathing... this is spectacular. I've been to Redang, but that was like ages ago.. i finally relive the feeling. I am indeed, swimming among the fishes. As i was swimming, i kept lifting my head up to check where are the rest. I don't want to float to other end of the island just because i was too indulge with all the fishes.

Blimey! i lost my butterfly bracelet. Ahh... it's kinda loose, i should have taken it off first. Aih, never mind.. my contribution to the sea. It seems like every bit of the sea of what i've seen inside i wanted to snap, but too bad i only have 27 shots for my disposal underwater camera. I have to take a deep breathe every now and then because my air tube keep allowing water to go in. I went to the boat and my oh-so-kind pak cik changed a new one for me. He told me it's a more expensive one, so i took it open-hearted. Kiasu ma.

The corals are absolutely beautiful. Shannon screamed his lungs out to us when he saw Nemo. I swam to look for it. I got a snap of it. It's so puny here i think u guys have to magnify it. Su Fen got up the boat very soon because she was terrified by the 3meter of water. Poor thing.

Underwater Alien - JoannnneEEE

I sincerely believe i did not strike such a ducky pose for the camera.

I'm a gifted cameragirl.

After for like 20minutes of snorkelling. We got up to the boat and uncontrollably tell each other our experience down the sea just before. Before we left, pak cik caught 2 fishes in a container for us to have a closer look.

Sorry he caught you guys up, but i enjoy watching you swimming in a small container.

Not long after that, we reached a place near all the big rocks and aqua blue water. The boat stopped and the pak cik looked at us. "Sini shark bay! okay.. boleh turun!" No one responded to him. Silence. Then the German couple and Shae took the lead and jump down. Great. Sharks... SHARKS!!

I took my sweet time to put on the life jacket. I jumped down, thinking..
shark won't come. They got more important business to do. I swan further from the boat, adjust my eye mask a lil' and dipped my head down once more. !@#%$%*&!$!!%$#%^$#!!!!! Freaking shark, freaking huge shark, swim swim swim!!!! oh please Sharkie, u don't see me, i didn't see you!! I think i've never swam so fast my entire life. I screamed my heart out to our guide, he laughed to Su Fen and said "Tu!! ade!!" I'm like, HellooooOO!! That's a freaking big shark. That's not even one minute after i jump down. Too lucky. So i cling my legs to the ladder, and kept asking if the shark will eat people. I came to know that the sharks here are not interested in human and they are well fed. Good. Then i shall continue my journey without sharkie. I think i scared it off.

The current was very strong. Pak cik was holding to Su Fen's hand like long lost couple because she's scared of sharks and they are off to look for more sharks. I followed them for a while but the current kept pulling me back i felt sick. I saw June in a distance with her head sinking in. I got on the boat and not long after that the rest joined me and June at the boat. I officially feel sea sick. Bluakkk... I can't vomit. I wonder if the fishes will eat my vomit stuff. I'm trying to share my wholesome- overnight meal here.

Most of them are not very happy because they didn't get to see the shark. Especially Shannon. He complain so much that i think the shark will eat him after that, for him so eager to see them. Self-volunteered bait to the sharks. Take him. *Laugh evilly*

We were given an option to go to have lunch or to see the turtle. Most of them choose to see turtle first, of course, lunch can wait but turtles won't. Our pak cik slowed down his speed boat and spotted a black patch of thing underwater and told us that's a turtle. We're like small kids seriously.. i mean, how often do u get to see turtles LIVE? you either see them on National Geographic, or their item as one of the booster of male's younger brother or Ninja Turtle. We sailed across the ocean.. spotted turtles a few times and Shannon didn't hesitate to jump down the sea every time our pak cik said there's turtle down there.

I didn't get down because pak cik said the current there was too strong. After that we went to the fisherman village for lunch.

Quiet Village

One of my favourite delicacy - Salted fish.

All the goats there look like this, braided and overly coat with different
kind of colors like carpet.

June with Goaties.

The place is packed with goats, humans, flies and ang mors. We ordered our food, although i felt like i shouldn't eat because i'll puke in the boat.I was hungry, so i had a few bite of my mee goreng.

After lunch we got back to our boat and headed to our next destination. We were once again given options to go see corals or turtles. Of course turtle would be our choice. This time i did not wear my life jacket but i threw one to the sea, just in case i got a cramp i still have something to grab instead of dying without anyone knowing. This time, we saw huge fish. READ: HUGE. These fishes are like 2 joint school tables size. It seems like they are those oversized Flower Horn with a bumped up head, but they don't eat us. They kept shitting that's all. Surreal, i can't imagine i saw such a big fish without the help of magnifying glasses like what we have in Aquaria KLCC. These fishes are born huge!

They can swallow you up easily if they want to.

We got on the boat again because we wanted to see another round of turtles. We spotted a few on the boat but i did not jump down because nobody did. Then Sasha told me You wanna go? i'll come along if you go. Alrighty, i got a mate. I got down without my flipper, how STUPID i am. I couldn't swim fast enough to catch up with a turtle, or Sasha, or Shannon. ARG!! I saw the turtle swim up to catch its breathe. Then it just disappeared. Did i just missed it? Kill me!!

I got up feeling quite disappointed but we made another stop. This time, i quickly put on my flipper and jump down the sea. Another huge turtle. This time i swim right above it, i snapped few pictures and i saw the turtle's head tilt up ready to surface. I quickly follow close behind it to see if i have a chance to touch it. I'm getting closer and closer.... *touch* AhHHH!! I touched a freaking huge turtle~~~!!! La LA Laallaa...

If you watched Surface you know how creepy it is like to get so up close with something like this
Huge turtle with a lot of fishes sticking to it.

I molested the back of the turtle and he can't sue me.
*Grin*

Our feet touch the sand again, our snorkeling journey ends here. Su Fen and I returned to our chalet to clean ourself from the salty water first. The salty water makes my skin itch and rashes starts forming. When i was talking to Su Fen when she is splashing herself with water, 2 guys walked towards our chalet's stairs. They are our next door neighbor! Not hot. They left and i noticed another pipe on their side. So i sat there and let the water rinse off the sand on my back. Then they 2 guys came back!! I was looking at them.. they're looking at me. Malu sial. Must be thinking
"What the hell is this bikini girl sitting under my pipe and using my water." I apologized. They said it's okay. So i just sat there then they left their room.

Su Fen in bikini.

Su Fen dozed off for a minute.

Check on my burns, skin will start to peel in few days time.

Catch the sun set.

Then i noticed this bunch of kids playing kites. They are so cute, they even posed for me when i put up my camera.

My ang mor kiddo wants to join them.

Kids see no color. Kids speak no language. Kids is beautiful.

As i sit there and enjoy the view of the beautiful island. I do what i do best- Stalking.

Stalking.

Stalking

With

Or without the girlfriend.

I stalk.

When we were talking. A familiar guy came to us, it's Sasha! He showed us the photos he took all over Malaysia on his digital camera.

The sky are getting dark and we quickly return to our chalet because we feel bits of rain is coming down. Drizzling is coming soon.

June likes her hair like this.

Sun burn all over. I got tanned skin.

After a quick shower and change, we headed to the restaurant for dinner. We borrowed the Uno Stacko lookalike thing to play. Shannon shocked the whole restaurant when he collapsed the whole thing down.

All of us ordered BBQ for dinner. It was superb. The fish is very nice although i don't really like fish, this Baracuda i ordered is worth the try. I love it. The mash potatoes are absolutely mouth watering.

This is my new skin tone.

The girls enjoying their congkak.

June and I

Shannon and I

For dessert, June ordered a deep fried Snickers and Su Fen ordered a Deep Fried Mars.

We're in a small hut.

We're so bored we didn't know what to do. I was talking to Sasha then i saw Shae and June heads off the the other end of the beach with a mini torch light. I planned to follow them. I ajak the rest come with us too. The water is warm and very cold at some part of the sand. Small fishes swimming around our feet. Sasha kept kicking water to me. Big kid. Su Fen did not join us, Apparently, she is stressed out. Therefore, she needs something that can release stress. So she did not join us.

Eye test : can you see the fish.

The fish is on the top right corner.

He robbed me.

Shae saved a fish that tried to commit suicide.

Obor, what do we call this in english?

Happy Juney

Goodnight people!!
