Backpacking

I'm came across this conversation with a friend that day regarding backpacking, as you know, backpacking is the thing i want to do these days. Although i know i don't have the time for it, but i still hang on to that thought.. i really want to do it. Not alone of course. At least, i'll have a guy with me, that'll be safer. How many kids nowadays will get themselves into this kind of adventure these days? not many, compared to other Western countries, Asia fall far behind. Tracing the track of how many teenagers actually go backpacking is almost associatiable with the word Rare. I wonder if anyone is even interested in it, seeing that backpacking is really exhausting and budget-wise. I certainly hope that there's a change of mind-set in the Asian brains that backpacking is actually very fun and enjoyable. Since kids in M'sia nowadays study too much, during childhood they are slaves of education and by the time they enter adulthood they are slaves for money. Sad. Not like it's a tragic childhood but kids now should really get out and taste the earth.

Advise No.1: Do not be a loner while you backpack, you'll always need someone to take photos of your arse.

Location. Location. Location. Where is the place that i wanna explore without the help of tourist guide - Indonesia or Japan. If i were to choose Indonesia, i'll have the chance to learn to cut down the budget while travelling. Since stuff there are expected to be cheap, of course, we're not looking down on the country. A lot of richies comes from Indon too. It'll be the safety i'm going to worry about. You'll never know, when will be the next time someone from somewhere decide to land a granate there. Fear. I do not want to die like that, no glorious moment at all. But i think in a country full of scandals and erm... culture, you'll be able to find out more on their beautiful side in one way. Only if you try to uncover the myteries within. Japan, i've been there.. decent country with decent people. You can tell why are there so little crime there.. cuz in Japan, we have Kira! (Shinigami - God of Death)

"I'm a big fan of Death Note, the anime version. People who commit crime shall die."

If you ever commit a crime, your name will be written down on the Death Note and you'll die in 40 seconds. Impressive. I personally hope that Kira exist, at least, someone out there is carrying out the justice. Actually, i'm the spokeperson for Kira. Just so you know. Nah, watched the ending, sad case. My master is dead. Anyways, we're way out of topic. Lets get backtrack. Japan, okay... it's safe, transport shouldn't be a problem, people there are honest and humble (which is a good thing for me uz i always get cheated without people having to lift a finger), and i have 3 families there. BUT, the thing is.. it's very expensive in Japan. I'll have to survive in instant noodle for 15days and come back with cancer. Why am i putting myself into this? because i want to prove to myself.. and the people who is skeptical of my abilities to go on a low-budget travel that i, Joanne can actually do it. Not alone of course. A guy is an asset, he'll have to carry your backpack when you can't carry it anymore, and to take your photos. Just in case i forgot. Another disadvantage is if i were to go to Japan, my backpack will be heavy. As in HEAVY. I have to bring more clothes because it's cold there(bare in mind i'm only free when they're having cooler seasons), and to add it up... i have to bring my boots, my make-up, my dress, my cute socks., etc. etc. etc. Com'on! it's Japan! you HAVE to be stylish in Japan. Well, maybe not when you're backpacking but i think that's a crucial note we girls have to pay extra attention to. :) Okay, loose the thought, we'll only bring essensial stuff.

Wanna see my backpack? i always thought it's kinda cool. It's light and easy.

What do you think?

No.Hell No. This is The One.

May i present you *drumsroll* Jeng Jeng! The spanking new Deuter ACT Lite 40+10. Don't be fooled by this handsome dude, he looks heavy but he is very light actually. *Cries* Daddy... buy me that bag pleeeSSeee!! I heard No. Of course, if i am a parent i wouldn't buy my child a freaking bag for 599RM. You must be outta your freaking mind. The bag is more expensive than the belongings inside. We're on a budget remember? how can you start travelling after you spend around 600RM just to buy a trekking bag? Doesn't make sense. Unless i'm a full-time backpacker.. i'll definitely invest a good trekking bag like this one. It'll be another 100years before i can tell myself "yay! lets go around the world!"

By then, i'm only a spirite floating above the universe and have a better view than Google's Earth.
