Feast in Nihon!

My housemate Bulat have an itchy tooth to sink her teeth in sticky rice and raw stuff, there's no where better to go other than Japanese restaurant. I went to accompany her and an unexpected guest Yong Jay joined us.

First stop
Zian Mai

We went to the branch in Sunway Pyramid. Previously i met Reagan and Suk Hui over there with Shannon but we didn't eat cuz we just ate. The food there is nice yet reasonable in price, a must try for sushi bar lovers.

The front entrance and cashier counter of Zian Mai

I met a friend there and i found out he is working part time over there, one enthusiastic boy! I ordered almost whatever he upsell, knowing that my stomach can't take too much Japanese i ordered everything in moderation.

After we order Bulat and i keep staring at this sushi boy because he is the hottest in the kicthen league and we wonder if he is making my specials.

Tamago Roll

I remembered after i got back from Japan i stayed away from Japanese food for a few months before i brazed myself to step into any restaurant that serves Japanese. In Japan people usually eat at home and what i had was all home cooked fresh-from-the-stove mum's homestyle food not Japanese rice rolled in nori sheets. It's considered fast food, but of course much healthier than American's.

My favourite teriyaki unagi

I don't know what combination is this

More tamago.

Poor Yong Jay agreed to tag the 2 of us to have Japanese food although he is a much more Western food lover. What he had was chicken!!! I mean, in a Japanese restaurant???? dude you're in the wrong place man.

Chick- ken

Satay.
Nola, chicken skewered. Quite nice, i think. From the way it shimmers.

After lunch we went to shop around with Yong Jay to look for short pants for him. Phew, talk about skinny guys, i know now why is it so difficult to find the right size of pants of skinny guys. Like my brother.

We walked passed Senjyu and i felt like having some desserts and we went in. I've been to Senjyu before this to have lunch. All By Myself~

It was my off day during my training period and i decide to go watch the much awaited Red Cliff after Shane wasted his saliva telling me how majestic the whole movie is. Rotten luck, they've already put it off the screen so i went to watch Meet Dave (according to my brother it's farny). Before movie i still have 30minutes, perfect for lunch.

I walked down from the cinema and turned left and saw this hostess standing outside holding a card. When i walked closer to take a look at the menu the hostess told me they serve the authentic long-fleshed sushi, for some reason i went in and dined.

Basic settings in Senjyu

There's only about 8 person in the restaurant and i ordered whatever the waiter upsell. SEE! i'm a very good customer. I ordered my favourite Calpis, everybody knows i love Calpis, only this time they have strawberry flavoured ones!

I remembered i only had 4 plates and a Vanilla Gelato wrapped in Mochi Crepe dessert, it was fulfulling and i sworn i'm going to return. In conclusion, in terms of service and food, Senjyu have my 5 stars.

Vanilla Gelato Wrapped in Mochi Crepe

So since there's someone to share my happiness, i ordered my favourite dessert for the second time. Bulat and Yong Jay each had a scoop of rock melon gelato and green tea gelato.

Green Tea Gelato

Rock Melon Gelato

One thing sad about the restaurant it's that it's senenity, from outside it would seem like nobody is going to walk in because it look quite intimidating and expensive. But come to think of it, it's a good place to dine good food, for once put the price behind your mind and dig in!

The sitting area are quite unique but the place is a bit too chilly, i remembered i shivered and eat at the same time.

Swan on the walls

All the staffs are cald in smart suits, very professional. So now do you want to go there?

'Qian Shou' in Mandarin or Kanji means thousand years

I sibeh love this restaurant.

My Birthday

First i would like to thank my parents for giving me this opportunity to see this world, and my friends who is always there by my side.
I'm alive.
******************************************************************

OLD already.

19 years old..

DAMN

But who cares! it's was well celebrated so let it be!
:D

The clock strikes 12am at 24 August and there's me holding a box of brownies with candles lit, and my lovely mates are singing brithday song to me right outside my house at 12am loud and clear!

Sean, Su Fen, Nana, Shannon, Me, Yong Jay, LG, Faiz.

I'm so blurred i think i showed no emotion.

They planned to take me to the fancy Carat.Club for lunch. Although my training was done in Pavilion but i've never stepped into this restaurant before, too far away and too expensive for a simple lunch. One more thing, the current C.Club restaurant manager is the previous Michelangelo's restaurant manager.

Drinks Menu

We were served by a Philippine waiter. He gave us decent hot rolls and we tipped him decently too.

Sean and Shannon

The restaurant sells food and jewelries, and the restaurant's menu looks like a magazine! I love the place, bright and welcoming.

My biatches girls Nana and Su Fen

We ordered different food so everybody can get a taste of everything.
One word: Yummies!

The 'C' symbol ALL over the restaurant making sure you'll never forget it's initial.

White is the whole theme of the restaurant to compliment all the bling blings displayed in the restaurant.

Beautiful isn't?

I feel pretty royal in there, more over i'm the Birthday Girl.

The food is delicious, so delicate and nicely plated.

My starter - Roasted Pumpkin with Rocket Salad topped with feta cheese and balsamic vinegar.
Just the perfect touch.

My bad-ass main course- Duck Confit served on a bed of mashed potato.

The chef gave me free ice-cream! cuz my mates told them it's my big day:)

Chocolate ice-cream with chocolate mousse.

A framed picture on the wall.

Shannon and I

Panacotta drenched in Strawberries.

After we left C.Club we went to walk around Pavilion. Tickling my urge to splurge!!!

We went over to Ruums KL with the intention to give Atika and Nadya the surprise of a lifetime.

Jeng Jeng Jeng!!!

Mission Failed.

She spotted us and jumped right out at us before we get to give her a surprise.

We has another round of Mac & Cheese, ice creams and Yong Jay had a big piece of steak! Later Atika came up to me with a piece of chocolate cake and apologized for not showing up at my place earlier midnight, i thought that's very sweet of her. Until she told me to get up on the chair and handed me a bottle of Tabasco.

I got up the chair because before they start to make noise i better stand up, maybe the rest of the customers wouldn't even noticed that i'm standing on the chair.

I overlooked the whole restaurant and it's a wonderful feeling. Later i was told to give a speech and ya, i did a lousy one. Suddenly, all of the staff stomped the wooden floor and sing out loud. I got another birthday song!!!

HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I'm so happy i don't know what to say-la.
Happy Birthday to Me, Happy Birthday to Me~

*******************************
Thank you very much for the wishes and celebration.
Love you guys.

Specialized Training at Michelangelo's

I did my second training in Michelangelo's Pavilion KL. Finally training is OVER!!

I don't know how to express my feelings towards the whole training thing going on in my life. Bitter sweet. 60% bitter 40% sweet.

Open kitchen concept. The place where all floor staff lepak.

Michelanglo's is a open kitchen concept restaurant so you can see the action going on when the chefs are preparing your food. And also the constant shouting between floor and kitchen staffs, for your entertainment.

Casual dining area and bar.

It's a dimly lit restaurant with beautiful custom-made sitting chairs and sofas, but it's not for us to sit. Who cares? my restaurant managers can sit around watch tv when the rest of us are busy until our legs are going to fall off!

Bar area. that's my supervisor Jack and bartender Azrul.

Lunch hour is the busiest time, no time to breathe. AT ALL. Sometimes i hate the crowd because there's too many people and too little staffs; ironically i can't stand the restaurant being too quiet too, i'll be bored - to death.

House pouring wine

I did my training with Kwang Yik (KY) and he is my wonderful bitching companion. I always bitch to him, and he have to stand me bitching. Thanks dude. Also another guy that have to stand me bitching, Hadi in the kitchen. I'll lean against the expo and talk to him like a neighbour seperated by walls. When it's their off days, i feel miserably lonely and desperate to talk to people in my league, my channel, my frequency. Damn those off days.

KY setting the restaurant.

My working hours are 9 in total include an hour break.

In the 8 hours of working time only 4 hours are very busy, i'll be working my arse off but i'm content. The rest of the 5 hours are like stoning, walking, serving some small little things and stuff like mise en place.

Non-smoking dining area after 3pm. Nicest place to serve because it's not hot.

I work during the day time usually because i was never late to work (in fact i'm tres early), and one of the reason is because of my safely to go back at night.

My last day staff meal - mushroom soup with garlic bread.

Michelangelo's serves great food. I love them.

I love the kitchen staffs very much because they are funny, they are friendly and helpful.

My beloved chefs (from left)- Shah, Hadi(with the head tilted), M, Yus, Zaki, Ali G, Anuar

Anuar

Ong, our new butcher

Anuar, Hadi and Lesley. She's 5 months pregnant and is standing the whole day working her butt off.

First month working in Michelangelo's is hell, big time. I'm working independently because i know i cannot trust anyone and i know what i'm doing. I'm close with the supervisors, and the cashiers only. There's one new staff that i particularly like because he respects me and he is nice.

Yus and Ali, total gayness.

Everyone knows i hate the gender-confused bartender. She/He is new, with no bartending working experience and she's a cleaner before that. When she first came in she was nice and humble until she got over her head and thinks she's the boss. She is prejudice towards me and acting like a total asshole.

Her name is AJ. And she looks like a guy. Totally nasty attitude and cocky. Well yeah, she thinks she is hell of a great bartender.

The coldest part of the restaurant. Do you realize i'm actually working in a restaurant full with naked man?

That 50% of my unhappiness working there is because of her. My restaurant manager side her. Until one day my general manager and the rest of the staffs agreed that she have an attitude problem. I tried a lot of times to work nice with her but she refuse to be nice to me, well too bad-la, now people know her true colors.

Signature of Michelangelo's

On my last day of work, i told my restaurant manager that i don't like the bartender they hired recently. To be honest during the whole training period i've been pretty kurang ajar with my RM, sorry but i just have to let it out before i go loco.

I press this every single day to punch in and out, take orders and make special request. Very nice to use with great system.

Of course there are happy times too when guests are having fun. Some guests are fussy but i'm happy i get to meet these kind of customers because they take good care of the service and food quality. Sometimes guests will leave big tips or even compliments to my service, that's enough to make my day :)

MZ sent over a florist to give this to me on my last day of work and as a birthday gift. Thank you very much.

My second month passed real fast. I was adapting well already and getting closer to the staffs. My days are much less miserable and i actually look forward to go to work some days. General managers and the boss treated me really good and they always hear out about my problems because i was making as many complaints as a fussy customers did.

"Hi! Joanne, Today is your last day working here. Good job!! Well Done!! Earlier Bithday Wishes."

There are days when i just want to cry out loud and tell those people how much i fucking hate them but i know i have to keep my composure. Then i'll run to KY and Hadi to release my tension. I'm such a bitch when i'm at work.

Julia and me. She is like a sister to me.

My bestest friend is Julia and her sister Nelly. They always hear my problems out, give me encouragement and always there to help 24/7 110% whenever i freaked out.

Faizal the horniest man i've ever seen in my entire life.

Although my asst. restaurant manager were not very helpful, but he is way funny and that brightens my day. A bit too much sexual influence though. Hahahaha!

Fellow floor staff - John, Cynthia(supervisor), Wiwi(hostess), Shah, and Kapet my brother.

Some of the staffs were very very nasty towards me the first month but suddenly they became very good to me the second month. I don't know what happened but that didn't bother me cuz as long as they treat me well, i'm okay with anything.

Pizza Chef he's a very nice guy. John and a sleepy looking me.

I did not really try hard to kiss everyone's asses because that's just not important to me. Yea i changed a lot since training started, i turned to be more icy. Ah, maybe i just need to get back to college.

John, me and Kapet

My feet was really in pain for the past 2 months and both my toes are totally numb until now. Everyday when i step off the bed both feet can't really feel the ground, it's excruciating to feel the 'electricle shock' feeling when my feet touches the ground.

Oh la la, Chef Kamarol.

To go to work i had to wake up at least 3 hours ahead to be on the safe side. You know how the public transportation works didn't you?

Look who's the boss.. HAHAHA!!

Just when i started to get used to everything, my training is reaching to an end. I can't believe the day i was looking forward to for so long came in a blink of an eye. Everyone was EXTRA nice to me the last week. I was afraid that i'll get showered by rubbish water (kitchen tradition for staffs that are going to quit) so everyday i bring extra clothes to work.

The chefs cooked me a lot of food the last day. My favourite chocolate lava is the best! i had one each day for 3 days before my last day at work. Normally i won't get to eat all those stuff cuz i'll have to pay if i want to eat.

The last day of my work, i got damn lot of soft toys. So touching, they even made me a huge dessert plate. Yummies. I got cream all over my face.

My big plate of dessert.

I was so happy my lasst 3 days of work that bartender didn't come for work. Huuray!!!! everybody can sense my happiness.

Restaurant manager Mr.Charan, Julia, Cynthia, i forgot her name and Yus.

Just like i'd said, everything didn't start off so well but i manage to fit in after a bit of struggling here and there. It was quite sad that i have to leave the restaurant because over the days i'll been spending my days and night over there.

Wani, the only one who can come close to my size.

I never thought i would publicly hate one person so much. And i told everybody, and now i put it in my blog.. dayum! i really hate her that much!

No romance involved. Although he look tres chaud when he is saute-ing.

I get along well generally with the rest of the staffs, in fact the new ones are very nice people. there are a lot of people that sayang me a lot, especially the kitchen staffs. I'm totally spoilt by them, totally.

Former butcher, quite close to him.

I guess what i'll miss the most is my regulars.

Anuar, the lost politician.

My farewell was pretty intense, i almost cried but i didn't, just teared a little bit. Thank you so much.

Ali G greedy for a peck on the cheek.

Chef that sayang me the most, what can i say?

Thank you for the good memories you guys left me and yes, i will come back for more free food.
:)
