Perhentian Island - Day 1

When we reached the island, we landed steadily on the white sandy beach. Wow, i can actually see my toes clearly, in Kuantan don't even expect you'll even see yr feet. We walked along the beach to look for our chalet, Panaroma. Sounds cool right? All over the place is colorful graffiti board and signs, very artistic people we have over here. I saw the sign Panaroma at last, there's a wooden path towards our chalet. We entered the entrance and when i put my head up, MAN! that's a lot of ang mor! all of them having breakfast in the restaurant. Toast with strawberry jam, a pot of hot coffee and a big platter of fruits - so this is ang mor style breakfast. Thinking of our own nasi lemak and milo kao kao.. doesn't sound so healthy, but heck, this is Malaysian style of breakie, although i'm not very proud of it. My breakfast is usually whole wheat cereal with some cold milk.

The chalet's reception counter located in the restaurant itself. Made of bamboo and solid wood, and above the counter there's 2 puffed up puffle fish with light bulb inside.

Holy moly! those are real fish, i wonder how they freeze it when the fish puffed up. Brutal. I like it. I would like it even more if it drops on someone's head.

We put our luggage on the table when Su Fen and went over the counter to settle our accommodation matter. Seem like forever, apparently they didn't have a clean vacant room. Oh well, we'll wait then. After for like 10 minutes of waiting (Shannon starts wondering around the area with Phil), we got our keys into our room. First we thought we're going to be neighbors but they gave us rooms thousands yards apart. Nah, not that far... because when Shannon blast his Irreplaceable we can hear it loud and clear from our room. Damn that inconsiderate brat, people come here to relax and hear the wave and wind, not some english top chart songs! The got the A2 room while we girls got the E2 room. Splendid!

We open the door of our room. OMG. What a room! it's huge, the floor creeks, the room have no electricity, mosquito net is wrapping both double bed and there's 2 fan on the wall. I went straight to the bathroom and check, looks fine. Okay, i can survive in this place. Not for long maybe. We changed into our swimsuit and went out to check on the boys. They changed and after that we headed d
own to the restaurant to have our breakfast. We sat under the bright yellow umbrella and had our brunch. I went over to the shop nearby to look for pareo, nothing really fascinates me. That's alright.

Seriously, we have no idea what to do for the rest of the day and we're bursting our heads off to think what to do. We rented an umbrella for RM10 and sat there, chill under the freaking hot sun. Shannon and Seng Kwee went over to the water and start playing like small kids. Smart ass they didn't put on the sunblock. I'm enjoying myself glancing/staring/eye-stalking guys. But some of them turned around and i almost strangle myself to death because i've been staring at their back for so long and wh
en they turn around they look like Shrek.

The boys got back and it's time for the girls to hit the sea. Su Fen and i went down because June wants to sleep. She's sleepy and tired. We dipped our toes in the water, it's cool. I kept walking deeper and deeper, but the water are so shallow i can still sit and half my body still left unwet. You need to walk a distance before you can actually swim. It's like we're in a kid's swimming pool, only the water is salty. Su Fen and i don't want to get too dark the first day so we headed back to the shore to join the rest.

June

Su Fen

We start cam whoring and after that sleep on the crowded mat. It's so crowded Su Fen and I went to get another umbrella. We slept under the hot sun. Bad choice. All the ang mors do that, they even read under the hot sun without umbrella, these people are CRAZY!! Soon, all of us just doze off for few minutes. We discovered that we're the only Malaysian tourist in Perhentian. Cool!

Finally, June joined us in the sea for our second round of dipping.

I love this picture.

After the second dipping. We all went back for our next napping. Clearly all of us didn't get enough sleep on the bus the other day. Actually we didn't sleep long, the sun shining on our faces and burning on our skin is not such a good condition to be well rest.

Surprisingly, June can sleep! like a baby.

And i'm burnt all over.

I love this place.

My flip flop and my feet. Both burnt.

Shannon and I

Su Fen and I at our second umbrella.

Soon, the rest were having fun burying Su Fen at the beach. I was too lazy to get my bums off the mat i just sit there and snap some photos.

Our first umbrella, the most special one.

Umbrella stall.

Su Fen. Rest in Peace.

Ahh!! She's alive! she smirks too!

Can you see the red patch on my feet. It's all burnt. BURNT!!

Look like some indian film.

Thanks to Shae's tripod, we got a group pic coming along!

Water Ghost in Bikini

Check out Phil's sexy sunburnt leg! In fact, not only his legs are burnt, his entire body is burnt.

Enough of sea water and sun basking. We headed back to our chalets for a quick shower and change. Dinner time is approaching, time to think what to have tonight! In our room, Su Fen and June over heard the people staying next to us, "They are French!!". Wow... they can recognized their language. I can hardly understand French. There's one women and 2 guys. I wonder how they sleep in one room. Threesome. Scare the hell out of me. I don't want to hear anything at night coming from that room. I saw her kissed the guy French style, so i suppose that's her husband and the other guy is just a friend. We have no guts to talk to them though.

We saw this huge owl with over sized eye brow gazing back at us with his gigantic black eye balls. Maybe i'll fry that for dinner. Owl's Eye Balls. Anyways it's a nice birdie, we didn't go near it because he don't look so friendly.

The sun starts to set announcing to the people in the island it's time to get off the sea.

We decided to have our dinner at this restaurant near the shore. June ordered banana pancake with chocolate, Shae and I had tom yam, Su Fen and Phil got their BBQ scrumptious meal. The barakuda tasted fantastic. The girl that served us is a French girl from Bordeaux (pronouced as Boldor, or make it easier.. Bodoh), we all wondering what is she doing here in this island serving.

After that we headed back to our chalet, the light bulbs to our chalet are lit up, shining the beautiful natural path. We were fast asleep. Charging for tomorrow, where all the excitement awaits! Fishes and sharks and turtles i'll see you tomorrow!

Perhentian Island - Before all that fun times.

I walked up the bus, and the driver is talking to a cop. I showed him my bus tickets that says 1A, the first single seat in the bus which i always sit, the cop is sitting on my place and the driver tell me 1A is the second seat. Well, okay.. i'll sit there. The bus's digital clock ticks 1100, the bus driver and his colleague look across the empty seats "Oik?! 5 orang saje?" then his colleague look outside the bus, Sutera is filled with people. He joked to the Sutera bus driver to ask some of his passenger to sit in our bus. Anyways, just in case you guys wondering what bus am i sitting, i'm sitting Mara Liner. My choice when it comes to bus. Mara Liner got nice and humble driver, comfortable seats, not too cold, got plasma tv.. and at night when they turn on the orange light it looks like what it is in the plane. Really. (Too bad Mara Liner ain't paying me for this) Funny thing is, there's only 5 people including me in the bus! either way, the bus have to go despite the amount of the people. When i got off the bus, i realized i'm the only girl in the bus.. phew.

Meng Zhen and Siow Pei picked me up from Pekeliling after a short wait at the bus stop. It kinda freaked me out to see a psycho scratching his crotch none stop in front of a girl. Man this ah pek have to go to jail!! We went to Sunway Pyramid to have our lunch in Kim Gary and after that back to my condo. Siow Pei fell asleep in my bed when i was having my quick shower, when i got out i saw a small little girl curled up in my bed. She must be tired hanging out with Meng Zhen the whole day singing kareoke and having 'great' times bombing each other just by small little word like Old Klang Road and Healthy Food Products. I really have no idea what are the both up to. Indulging in their own world. Both are good friends of mine, i enjoy watching them killing each other though. Shannon called me and tell me to go to Masjid Jamek let station, fast. Siow Pei and I walked down and meet MZ down there. Off we go.

Initial plan was they'll stop me at KL Central then i'll take lrt to meet the rest there. I need to get the underwater camera from Kl Central. After a bit of discussion, MZ decided to fet
ch me straight to PWTC bus station. He stopped me at KL Central, SP and I stormed out of the car and buy an underwater camera from KL Central and rushed back to his car. They both accompanied me in PWTC station until Shannon, Su Fen and Philbert arrive. Thank you both of you!! Meng Zhen especially for going through all the trouble. :)

We got on the bus after having some problems looking for our lost June. The journey was like this, lemme get this picture for you.

Everyone was sleeping. But actually we are not sleeping. We TRIED to sleep. Our eyes are closed like we're having great dreams. But we're not asleep. You know why? I don't know!!!

Because it's just 9.30pm.

The driver made a stop at this malay restaurant. Philbert and Shannon told me we're at Kuala Lipis but i can't see a thing because i've took off my contact lenses. Actually i don't plan to leave the bus but all of them wanted to go down so i did. We wonder around the restaurant and Shae told us he feel like eating laksa.

Nobody listen to him though. After Su Fen bought her snack we got up the bus again. This time, all of us got active. We start chit chatting in the bus and laughing our heads off.

Suddenly, a man in red came in, crank open the first compartment (which is locked) in the bus, grabbed a bag/steel box and got off the bus. None of us said anything. None of us made any noise. None of us did anything. We looked at each other, and continued with our topic. None of us said anything about that guy. Not long after that, everyone starts talking about that forced open compartment and soon, the whole bus is talking about it. Right, let me get this straight, we just witness someone steal something, and we did nothing and we just watch that guy ran away with that thing. First, the bus driver told us inside that thing contains guns and bullets, i'm like OMG!! we stopped there for about an hour before the bus driver made his way to the police station, which is not far from the restaurant. The bus driver left us clueless until some malay guy came up the bus and apologized to us and tell us what happened actually. He wanted us to become witness. YAY! I, proudly announced that i see a red patch taking stuff and ran away, because i'm not wearing my contacts, i'm half-blind. We gave the police our address and phone number. Well, we wasted for about 2hours just to settle this case. We made a total of 5stops (according to Su Fen) including the changing of VIP bus to VLK (Very Lao-Kap) bus because the police wanted the bus to track the theft's fingerprints. The ang mors in our bus are clearly have no idea what's going on and certainly not very impressed with it.

Anyway, we reached Jertih and Shannon managed to get the one and only taxi there. Dead cheap. The taxi driver didn't put on his seat belt, i got an urge to ask him "Boleh pake toli pingge dok?" but i reminded myself not be so cruel to some uncle here. Plus, it's still so early in the morning, and we're in some kampung area.. should be alright. Along the way, we saw fields of grasses and few lembu... June and Su Fen went Woww and Awww for that, City Kids in Kampung. It seems like i'm the most kampung of all, Saya Anok Kuantan, biso kecek siket Kelate.I think i adapt my Kelantan slang a lot during my National Service, time to put them in use. The journey is so long, i'm still very happy because the taxi driver charged us dead cheap, and he happily fits us 5 in his taxi, which is illegal in any part of the city, not for kampung. In rural places, when your car broke down, people will stop and help you; in modern places, people will stop and rob you. I find it very true when MZ told me that. He is a anok Kelate himself.

We reached our destination, i can smell the sea - it stinks. It's a fisherman village, so it is bound to have the smell.

We tried to track our ferry agency Bahtera along the street. Finally we found it and we were told we have to wait until 8am, which is 2hours away.

June ready to kick some ass

Philbert and June

I took this without her knowing, Su Fen.Naomi

There's 2 foreigners which we later found is from Finland. Cool! there might be a slight possibilities we can be friends with them in the island. All the shops are closed. We sat at the bench and waited until our guide bring us to the jeti. We got on the boat and the journey to Perhentian Island starts!

The speed boat seems to lead us to an endless boarder of the sea. Took us about an hour to reach the island. Our hair looks pretty stylo after the extreme wind blowing on our hair and our faces. Last but not least, the ride was SO bumpy, i think all of our butt is toner by the time we reached there.

See me in shades for the first time yes?
